I don't see that. My OS RAM usage is only about 1MB more, unless I turn on a lot of extensions which 7.1 simply doesn't have. I have seen fewer crashes under 7.5.5 than I saw under 7.1 and 7.1.1 so far. Finder is faster now than it was, so I'm not sure what you mean there. Startup is slower, but then I'm loading more extensions. When I disable them it starts up fast, which is no great surprise. Even with all the normal extensions, startup is certainly not an hour, or even a full magnitude slower than 7.1. A huge portion of startup on my Mac is DHCP negotiation anyway.
