I don't remember too much about the AHRVC, but I don't think it provides much or any acceleration. I may be misremembering though. Those MacUser reviews were a long time ago. >Does anyone have a nubus ethernet card they would liek to sell? This Ebay seller, Robert Spivey <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>, has the Emachines Futura II SX card. He's been starting them at $10 on Ebay. You might email him and see what he'll sell one for direct, or look for one of his Futura II SX sales on Ebay. The Futura II works at least through OS 8.1, though there's some control panel problem after 7.5.5. Acceleration still works, you just have to avoid some of the fancier functions. The very best NuBus video card is the Radius Thunder IV GX or Thunder 24/GT, but they tend to be rare and expensive--$100+. It's kind of funny because they're often more expensive than a modern PCI video card. Another good choice is the Radius Precision Color Pro 24. This came in three varieties: 24X, 24XK and 24XP with decreasing amounts of VRAM respectively. I think the PCP 24 and the Futura II were comparable in performance, but I'm not certain. I need to run some recent benchmarks to check it out. However, watch out for the Radius Precision Color (no Pro). This was an older slower card from Radius with an almost identical name. It's very confusing because the markings on the PCP cards often omit the Pro. I think the Pro cards are 6.75" long and the non-pro cards are longer, but I'm not certain about that. Interestingly, Mr. Spivey also has the Ethernet Daughter Board (unless he has run out) for the Futura II card. That lets you get video and NuBus in one slot. However, unless I'm making some fundamental mistake in my testing, the ethernet daughter board does not work with Open Transport, only with classic networking.
