Does your PC monitor work fine with any of the older Macs in general? I have a 19" Dell branded (Sony) monitor that simply won't work with any of my older Macs, while my 15" Sony monitor works just fine.
The reason I ask is that my DigitalFilm card automatically stepped down to whatever monitor I was using. For example, if I had it plugged into my 15" Sony and ran it at 1024x768, then turned around and plugged my 13" Apple monitor into it - it'd automatically run at 640x480.
