Recently things have been pretty reliable -- I'm not sure whether the progression to OS X 10.2.3 was the solution but it is worth a try if you haven't upgraded. My SE/30 config is similar to yours except that I have the Scriptable Finder (7.5.1) installed. The OS X share size is shown in the Finder 7.5.1 windows as "Zero space used, 2Gb free" but everything else seems OK for now. If you need the Scriptable Finder, install the LaserWriter 8.4.1 package (not 8.5.1 which requires System 7.5.x). The AppleShare 3.8 versions support third party UAMs (Use Authentication Mechanisms or encrypted passwords in English) so may be useful if you are running an NT or Windows 2000 AppleShare server. The AS 3.8 versions that claim to require System 7.6 will work with 7.1 or 7.5. The versions that require Mac OS 8.x really do require Mac OS 8.x.
