Hi, I'm new to the list. My name is Todd Russell and I'm... I'm... okay, I admit it, I'm a Macaholic. :)
Seriously, someone just gave me an LC with File Maker Pro 2 and MacWrite II and I was thinking it would be fun to network this to my G4 w/Jaguar to use as a floppy station and business database. I do freelance computer work and videography and was thinking it would be cool to use this as my main customer database machine just to prove it can be done, and to prove that even an old dinosaur Mac is more fun to use than a P(iece o')C(rap). ;) I have tried numerous different things unsuccessfully, then decided to look for expert advice. I have an ethernet card I pulled from a Performa and put into the LC, but I'm not sure whether or not I have a valid driver extension for it. I put Apple Ethernet CS II extension on the LC, along with Network Extension v7.6.2, but could get neither the LC or the iMac(10.1.5) that I' m testing with to recognize each other. Then I thought I'd just try d/l-ing the 19 disk System 7.5.3 to install and let in fil lin the gaps, but I found out the hard way that I have to copy all these onto the LC's hard drive first before it will attempt to run. Disk 1 won't fit on a disk! Then, I also read the fine print that you need 7.1 to mount these images anyway. :P Any thoughts on how to make this happen?
