<snip> When I tried switching to Ethertalk, it told me "An error occured,
your connection will be switched back to Local talk." Or something like
that. So, I thought maybe a conflict with the FileSharing Extension 7.6.2.
I moved it out of Extensions, moved the old one back in, and rebooted.
Same error message. I got looking and the installer had put the
AppleEthernet NB driver in the extensions, </snip>
I got the same error message on an LCII when I tried to switch to Ethertalk
(LC slot card) in system 6. Funny, though, because Ethertalk worked fine on
that exact same machine when in 7.1. Try getting 7.1 from Gamba and see if
that works. It is only like 6 floppies for all the installer stuff
("Install", "Install 2", "Tidbits", "Fonts", "Printing", "System Update
3"), so it shouldn't be too hard to get it off your main computer and onto
the LC. Besides, 7.1 is MUCH better than either 7.0.1 or 7.5.3. And you can
add several extras to 7.1 to make it just as functional as 7.5.3 without
the 19 part smi. Gamba has it all.
BTW, it's http://home.earthlink.net/~gamba2 unless I'm not supposed to say
it out loud. ;)
