I don't know (or care) if Willy is for real or not.
Willy,
Your question about memory has been answered; stop questioning information
given to you by people who know quite a bit more. G3 upgrade - not a
chance! The circuts in the SE are completely different than a G3. Advice:
1. Research. There are links to the FAQ in every message on this list.
Also search the web for other resources.
2. Lurk. (In case you don't know, that means read a list without posting.)
Find out what others are doing/asking about before you jump in.
To rest,
Poking fun at Willy doesn't solve the problem of posts that are a waste of
bandwidth. If someone posts a message that shouldn't have been asked, it
would be much more helpful to contact them off list, answer their question
(or point them to resources), and inform them about netiquett. If everyone
who felt a need to answer such questions did this, the person who posted the
question would be rewarded in an appropriate manner (namely a lot of
extra/redundant email). I believe the idea that new members should be
moderated for the first 5 posts was mentioned here earlier. I think that
would be a wise decision.
As far as banning Willy goes, I'm in favor. He needs to do his homework.
While doing his homework, he'll probably come across a list slightly more
appropriate for an SE.
There's my 2 cents (listmom did ask).
