Since MultiFinder is from System 6 there's no reason to expect that it would work with System 7. Get a legtimate 7.1 boot disk and add System Enabler 308 v1.0 to it. The Performa 450 needs that enabler to run 7.1. The enabler can be found at; <http://home.earthlink.net/~gamba2/enablers.html>. If you need more space on the disk then replace Apple's Finder with a minifinder. More about those can be found here: <http://home.earthlink.net/~gamba2/sys7boot.html>, about halfway down.
