I'm trying t o work out how to set up a 2GB HD to go into a IIci. The

Try without the SCSI 1 option. SCSI 2 and later should work fine with the IIci.

Also it has active terminators, which can be on or off, and can supply
the termination power, or not.

If using the drive internally, termination should be on. If using the drive in an external case, turn it off and use an external terminator on the bus.

Does the IIci supply term power to it's SCSI bus, or does the drive
supply that?

All Macs after but not including the Mac Plus provide SCSI termination power. Strictly speaking, the SCSI standards say that more than one device on the bus can provide termination power but it is safer to turn it off unless you know that it is explicitly required.

You guys are just holding out on me :-)

Nope, I just read the digest version of the list...

Tried it with Termination ON but not connected to the SCSI bus. Got a
sad Mac.

Check the SCSI ID (obvious but do it again) and the motor start jumpers -- the drive should not require an explicit SCSI start command; the drive should already be running when you start to boot (use your ears or fingers on the drive).
