Absolutely, the AOL browser is slow.  But there's no reason you can't use 
another browser after connecting with AOL  (I use iCab and NS).  I am generally 
happy with AOL as it has free access numbers in many Pennsylvania cities I 
travel to, as well as good coverage all over the US.
