They pulled a trick that has become annoyingly common at auctions these days. They didn't like the prices they were getting so they just didn't sell a bunch of the stuff despite having bids on it.
In this area the wise do not go to auctions unless they are advertised as "absolute auctions" ..... meaning that items go to the highest bidder no matter how low that bid might be.
