The problem could be that your machiene is set for 24-bit addressing. If this is so, 
then trying to boot the machiene off the 7.6 CD again should work. (If 7.6 & later try 
to boot on a Mac set to use 24-bit addressing, they change the PRAM setting to 32-bit 
mode and restart the machiene). Some CD Drives may spit the CD upon the restart
