On Saturday, November 15, 2003, at 07:30 AM, "Powermac" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > So the IIfx does have cdrom support on an external drive? > > Every Macintosh with SCSI supports CD-ROM as long as the extensions are in the System folder. Prolly not available for System 1, but most certainly from System 6 and later. As far as being able to hold down the "C" key to boot from the CR-ROM, afaik it's only built into those machines that came with an internal CD-ROM (or for which it was an option). And from memory that'd be the Macintosh IIvx and later. So to conclude... AFAIK a Mac IIfx can use a CD-ROM and boot from it, but it won't recognise the "C" key at startup.
