Yes, there were several 16 bit wireless cards made.

Hmm, a 486, even a 33mhz, would run Win98 fairly well. Especially 
LitePCed. Would be amusing if it could be made to work, you'd have an 
emulator with wireless capability when the Mac doesn't.
