Right. But a friend of mine had and shared one of the aforementioned
machines with me. This had the rounded front and manual-inject floppy
drive like the Quadra 605, but had a base like a standard LC-series Mac,
whereas the Q605 has "legs". The name badge just said it was an LC III.

We always called them "LC III +" because the were a transition machine
between the 68030 LC III and the Quadra 605 with a socketed 68040 CPU
and 72 pin RAM slot.

I'm beginning to feel a little, "Area 51" about this Mac, as many folk have
pooh poohed the existence of it. 

Yet, WE who have owned them KNOW they existed. Sadly, I think my friend has
passed away or I'd call him and get a photo of his.
