Having read a few more of the replies to your original message, I tend to agree with Jeff Garrison that you really ought to try to initialize these drives in the Macintosh in which you intend to use them, the IIsi.
Yes Jim, but they wouldn't mount on the desktop of the computer of intended use -- the IIsi -- in the first place. Since I didn't have any disk tools floppies ready and these HDs did mount on the 6100 desktop, I initialized them with a recent version of the Drive Setup, thinking that it could help. That was my mistake.
