Sometimes the capacitors leak and that'll pretty much kill it. Do you see fuzzy brown stuff around the base of the silver caps on the logic board? Sometimes it looks like dust, but if you look more closely, you can tell it isn't.

Could be dead power supply too (doesn't necessarily have to be the fuse). Video card won't keep it from powering up. Is this the model that had to be dropped onto the table due to the parts coming loose in shipping? (Just a tad before my time).

Hi Folks,

I recently dug my IIfx out of storage to find no signs of life. It worked
when it was put away 2 1/2 years ago and I even bought new PRAM batteries
for it back then as well.

So far I've tried 2 different keyboards, with and without drive shelf in
place, with known good batteries from my IIcx and IIci and with the
batteries I bought for it back then. 3 different video cards too, just in
case it won't power up with a bad video board in.....mains lead is good 'cos
it's the same one I used to check the other 2 macs. It also stood for 3 days
with no batteries in. Oh, and the glass fuse in the PSU is fine too.

I'm stumped - anyone got any ideas?

Thanks :)
