I've just purchased a mac IIci (I always wanted to but couldn't afford
it several years ago!) The problem is finding the right monitor for it.

I've got a HP-71 PC monitor and two macintosh-PC monitor adapters.
One of them is a viewsonic Mac adapter that has a :
        <Screen Range -  Fixed Resolution - Switch Setting>
set up on it, the other has what seems like a phone dial knob with
similar settings.

Some adapters will work, others will not. Many posters have had success with the Griffin adapters but they're a bit pricy if you're outside the US. The IIci built-in video can be fussy -- less so than the IIsi, for example -- and I'm not familiar with the capability of the display you mention. Even so I'd shop around for a decent NuBus video card while you experiment with your adapters. LowEnd Mac lists loads of cheap (second hand) third party adapters that will make your IIci run faster and offer higher resolutions and refresh rates.
