Hi all,

Newbie to classic/compact Macs here...I just got an SE running with System 6.0.8. When I boot the machine it automatically loads Pyro! Kaleidoscope. I can not figure out how to exit this program. It looks like a screen saver--it is just drawing fractals or something on the screen. I've tried Apple+Q and every other key combo.

How in the world do I quit this app? Once I get to the finder, how do I disable this app from Startup?

Thanks,
Brian

If it doesn't go away with the pressing of any key or a mouse move, then it looks like Pyro! is password protected, that is, the previous owner assigned it a password at installation, and the only way to quit Pyro! is by blind-typing the password.
Does your SE have a hard disk? If it does, start from a diskette, and when you get to finder, just go into the System Folder and drag Pyro out of it. I don't think you can change the password.
