Thanks to all who helped me to resurrect the Mac Plus. I first replaced the floppy drive, then I formatted the external HD on another computer (6100), installed System 6.0.8 and the "bumblebee" (as Jeff would call it) is really flying. However, in order for me to type anything, I had to connect a keyboard from a non-working Mac 512 I have, because the Plus is not responding to its own keyboard. I did clean it first, and I wonder if that has anything to do with it. I removed all keys and cleaned them (the keys) with water and soap. Then I let them dry for several hours (the keys) under the sun. I also brushed the dust away from the keyboard bed with a smal brush. When the keys dried out I put them back. I didn't test the keyboard before, so I don't know whether or not it was OK.
