Oh yeah, good idea :-)

Still, I have to wonder how long tinyURLs will last. I wouldn't like to
be checking back through months or even years old messages for
something, only to discover a now nonfunctional tinyURL instead.

But tinyURL is definitely good for short lived news items and other
pages with a short shelf life.
