Hello, I've just acquired an LC with a 40MB hard drive and floppy. (Hasn't been used in at least 8 years). I plugged it in, switched it on, and all I got was a grey screen and the mouse pointer.
After a bit of searching on the web I replaced the old battery (was producing 0.8v !) with a CR2 3v camera battery. This time I got a 'happy Mac' but it went no further. After Winimaging a mac OS7 boot disk on my PC it refused to boot from the floppy and kept spitting it out. I took the drive apart and the spring which pulls the upper head down was fatigued - now fixed. It STILL wouldn't boot. So I unplugged the hard drive and it boots from the floppy. HELP ! (All the ram slots are full and the PDS slot is occupied) Any ideas ? --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Checked by AVG anti-virus system (http://www.grisoft.com).
