it definitely will cause things to fail eventually, possibly things in addition 
to the caps and it
may well etch traces off the board or damage vias which is really bad.  on the 
other hand
desoldering through hole parts on multilayer boards requires good tools/skill.  
what model is it? 
if it's worth fixing, i'd do it cheap or be happy to provide advise.  the 
capacitors are losing
capacitance which will increase noise and error rates and depending on where 
they are may be hard on
the power supply or other components.  it's not something to ignore unless the 
machines are worth
very little and only used for non-critical things where data corruption isn't 
going to be a big
problem, i.e. game playing and casual surfing.  there isn't actually much 
electrolyte in the caps to
leak out, and as they dry they essentially disappear electrically.  if they are 
surface mount parts
they are easier to replace, or if they are part of a plus power supply etc. and 
on a 2 layer board
they are easier to replace.
