Think the Lisa I have is a II I gave away the other one which was a I. It
came with the pro drive all 5 mb worth.... I do have a few of the Apple's
as a bunch turned up at the Goodwill a couple of years ago. II gs' Woz
editions for $5. Only bad part about the Goodwill is that the main one has
guys going in and stealing all the memory and ROM's out of them when they
are on the shelf. Sheez the things only cost a couple of bucks.....

I have been trying to save as much software as I can such as the install
disks while a lot of the old OS' are still out there but wonder if/when
this will all change as websites shut down or Apple finally pulls
them.....guess the tough sw to find is the Lisa and the Apple Network
Servers as apple made you buy the machine and then nailed you for the
software to run it...

Notice my original post had all the bolding stripped off by the list.

Just wondering what folks out there think were the most significant Macs
from that time.

Eg I thought the 128K (only because it was the first), SE/30, IIfx, Quadra
605 (technically the LC but the 605 is better and it can take 128 mb
simms), 660av or perhaps the 880av. Hmmm forgot those didn't I. The Quadra
950 (just because of the cuchong it makes when it boots) and perhaps the
6100 DOS

Anyhow didn't want to put anyone's nose out of joint with my list. Over
the years I only bought a few machines new. My first Mac was the LC which
was a whopping $2500 for the machine stylewriter and 12" rgb monitor. Then
picked up a Classic, then the 660av, Color Classic, and finally the IIvx.
I did buy a brand new PowerBook 100 which I still own, I soon realized
that buying used laptops was a better deal as I never really needed the
latest and greatest. The next brand new Mac I purchased was a G4 450 which
is still my main workstation. Between the G4 and IIvx I bought a used PM
6100av and then a used 8100av. The rest came second hand or were freebies
like all the Mac IIs which were sitting out in the garbage of a local Mac
store one day. I think there were 20+ IIs from originals to three IIfx's
and they all worked. Granted what the heck do you do with that many
antique macs. Over time they were sent to the Goodwill except for one
working example of each. I did keep all three IIfx's. Had considered using
them as coffee tables, one on each corner supporting a nice piece of glass
but they don't look like much on their ends.

Sounds like I'm not the only one out there with the 'bug' for saving old
Macs.....
