IIRC the LC series can support an external drive IF you have the Apple II compatibility card installed.

Hmm. Not sure what a "McD" floppy drive might be, but if you mean
the Apple M130 type 3.5" floppy drives, then I think you will find the connector on "Compact Macs" such as the 128, 512, Mac Plus, SE and SE/30.
