If the OS doesn't recognize them, it's most likely because they are too late-vintage to be System-6 compatible and you need older versions.
Oh, and you'll need to see the menu item "Control Panel" under your Apple Menu to access them. If you do not, you need to install the Disk Accessory called Control Panel, using Font/DA Mover.

How do I make the 6.0.8 boot disk with MacTCP on it? I've made a 6.0.8 disk by making a disk image from 6.0.8 set up off the Apple site, but it doesn't seem to recognize control panels or extensions. Is there some trick to making a disk like this? I can't seem to find anything on the web, just mostly suggestions saying "make a 6.0.8 boot disk and you'll be set," but not how. Also, any recomendations of what to cut out of it in order to make it as small as possible so I can run MacHTTP off the other drive?
