Thanks. But I've got one heck of a problem: I'm using SoftMac on a x86 platform (unfortunately, I do not own a nice little modern Mac, my "youngest" PowerMac is 10 years old ;-)
You can run vMac on a 10 year old PowerMac, although it's a bit sluggish. It's sufficient for demonstrating System 1 at any rate. I used to run vMac on my 7100/80.
and the mouse keeps showing up in two parts of the screen at the same time. (like it was acessing a floppy drive all the time... but faster) I've tried downloading vMac but I can't run it on my 333 Mhz PC with Windows Xp
That's odd. vMac for Windows ought to run fine on that box.
, and Basilisk for Windows, well... it looks like I can't find it anywhere...

...but you can't run System 1 on Basilisk. Or on SheepShaver (the PowerPC Mac emulator which has finally been ported from Unix to Windows) either.
Anyone knows the cause of my despair? ;-)

The latter will give you the direct download, and the first gives some history you may find useful for your demonstration.
Also, if you're running Panther, you can download vMac...a Macintosh Emulator, emulated on a Mac Plus - nice little trinket. :-)
