This is a far fetched idea and it may not make any difference, but I remember that Pluses worked best with a drive that was formatted with a 3:1 ratio. The SE/30, which probably formatted the drive, used a 1:1. I can't say for sure if this will make a difference, but it is worth investigating.
To try this experiment I'd format the drive on the Plus and then use the SE/30 to move the files. Remember--if the Plus can format the drive it will recognize it unless the drive is possessed or something (and believe me--computers do get possessed--remember my post a while ago about that IIcx that came on by itself?)
