Robert,
 Fill the tank about 1/2 full, with a bit of Clorox bleach, I think a
cup per 10 gallons would be plenty. Run it through your pipes until you
can smell the chlorine at each and every faucet. Let it sit for an hour
or so, then drain the system and flush it with fresh water. Adding a bit
of baking soda to the water is supposed to "sweeten" it.
