Al Kersey,
Your 71 Airstream Overlander, is an "Overlander". The International is
a Trim package, and the "Land Yacht" is a name given to most all
Airstreams.

I27D1-99452

The I stands for International.
The 27 is length in feet, bumper to ball.
The "D" is rear bath, double bed.
The 1 is 1971.
The 99 may be a misprint. It should be an "SS" or a "J" for plant.
Check again, it might be an SS stamped faintly, and mistakenly written
99.

The 452 is the production sequence number.

Thats it,..........good luck.

Bill Scott, Since there seems to be a long thread regarding AS
nomenclature please tell me what mine is.. It is registered as a 1971 27
ft. Air Stream Travel trailer. On the plate by the door there is the number
I27D1-99452 and International Land Yacht. The (I) may be a(1) one. The
word Overlander is on another plate further back behind the door. Am I
correct to call this an Ovelander or International.

Thanks,

Al Kersey
