Oh Terry,
Thats absoulutly lovely,
Reminds me of the time when in the little river town I grew up in, The old
gals with their hairnets were trying to protect their prized potatoe salads
as the tow headed kids in Keds tennis shoes were throwing sand. and then
when night would fall on the river someone would build a bon fire and the
old folks would drag their folding chairs closer to the fire ring and us
kids would be put down on blankets in the sand falling to sleep hearing the
crickets and the bull frogs and the voices young and old on and off key
singing songs like "Down By the old mill stream" and songs like "Red River
Valley", All the beautful sounds Sweet and harsh, echoing across the river
and onto the opposite river bank as the stars and the moon watched over us
for eternnitey.
I know this isn't AS stuff but thanks for bringing back a few precious
memories!
