Unscrew the knob - you may need to pull it all the way out first. Then
remove the nut - AKA an escutcheon - by using a "Dash Nut Removal Tool"
similar to the one shown in the Karmann Ghia Parts & Restoration catalog.

Most VW vendors will have a tool like that or something similar. Using
needlenose pliers will scratch and/or destroy the nut. :o)

Hi, friends!

We have a ´63 Bug. Wiper switch is completely stuck, it doesn´t move at
all. Do you have any ideas why that happened? As far as I understand, I have
to replace the switch. But here comes another problem. I haven´t that job
before and I am not able to remove the old switch, Anyone able to give some
instructions how to do that?
