Hi Gang, Well the warm weather is here (I think) and I'm once again spending some time down in the "man space" (aka garage) working on the four-wheeled pumpkin. The little beastie in question is a '73 Std. Beetle.
At one time there was, apparently, a small lamp center-mounted on the roof of the footwell area. I think it was supposed to shine on the HVAC controls; I've looked at the owners manual but it really doesn't show or say anything regarding this lamp. All I have now is a bare bulb hanging down (which does work and does an excellent job of lighting up the entire footwell area at night which tends to wreak havoc on ones night vision). Is anyone familiar with this lamp and what it does and also know where I might find one? It doesn't seem to be reproduced and was apparently omitted when the Beetle migrated south of the border. My other immediate project is to tweak the rear T-bars (as the old girl is suffering from a droopy backend) and replace all the bushings; I've kept the postings regarding this topic as a source of gouge regarding the upcoming project.
