Well said about tools! Theres a bad trend locally of not using
specialist tools. Torque wrenches are unheard of. Hammering used instead of
pullers, damaging pulleys, bearings and what not. Not having the right tools
for a job is false economy. You end up damaging parts more than the tools
worth.
Bought a number of wrenches and allen keys to work on the dubs. Makes
tightening /loosening the rear axle nut and flywheel nut so mush more
civilised. Chisel and hammer weilding freaks are kept away from my beloved
wagens!
While on this, I wanted to fabricate an escutcheon removing tool. Would
prevent scratching the dashboard paint and make it easier to tighten/loosen
those original swicthes in place.
