What size drill bit should I use to drill out the old 8 mm valve guides in my 40 hp cylinder heads? After close inspection of my heads, I discovered that cast iron valve guides were not replaced with new silicone bronze ones. I remember reading many years ago that you need to relieve the guide so it comes out easy and doesn't damage the bore . Yes, I have a lathe and will make drift tools for removing and for installing the new guides. Thanks , VW George
