You can get a good rebuilt transmission from several shops down the road. Many shops will rebuild your stock unit if you want to keep it original to the car, and it'll probably run you nearly the same as a rebuilt using your old trans as a core. Here's some good shops. Wright gearbox in Riverside http://www.wrightgearbox.com/ KCR, also in Riverside http://www.kcrtrans.com/stock.html And Rancho, in Fullerton http://www.ranchoperformancetrans.com/index1.html My '66 has a Rancho box in it right now ('67 stock ratios with '66 axles). I haven't had a single problem with it since I installed in in early 2005.
