I've seen ABS plastic glovebox inserts for standard beetles that permit
mounting later-model stereos, etc.
I need to mount an old Telefunken FuG-4b police radio in the glove-box
opening, but the factory bracket that was made for that purpose no longer
exists. (I've been looking on eBay.de for years). The AutoMuseum Wolfsburg
tells me I'll need to be creative!
I've seen the American EMPI plastic glove-box inserts and think one could be
modified as a look-alike mount. But they want over 30 bucks for them. Has
anybody seen a used, or damaged, stereo mount for a beetle glove box (either
from EMPI or anybody else) that might be available?
