Bert,

I have a '73 Super Beetle, the first year of the curved windshield. As you may
know, the spare tire on the SB lays flat in the trunk. The silver paint
sticker
on my SB is on the drivers side of the trunk near where the wiring from the
fender mounted turn signal comes through. I do not know if that is the same
location for the standard beetle though. If you'd like a picture of my sticker
location, let me know.

Brian

Subject: [vintagvw] Paint sticker

Volks,

I'm in the process of "re-stickering" my restored '70 and trying to get
everything placed precisely correct.

I can't find any photos showing exactly where the silver paint color sticker
belongs (I know it's behind the spare tire someplace) or the little
inspection sticker that's usually slid in behind it. Does anybody know of a
picture, or can anybody tell me how many millimeters to the right of
something-or-another?

Thanks,

Bert Knupp in Nashville

P.S.: I have the capability of counterfeiting great reproductions of VW
paint stickers. Let me know if you need one. And a date for the inspection
sticker, too, and I'll make you one of those. Free, of course.
