I wanted to throw in another comment about the Pertronix or any other CDI set up. I've heard people who are upset because the Pertronix can just die at any moment without warning. Well so can points and they go out of adjustment regularly. Fuel pumps can go bad without warning, a tire can go flat without warning, etc. So yes, the CDI setups might go without warning, but at least you didn't have to keep fiddling with them along the way. My take on it...
