My 70 Copbug has a Brazilian aftermarket hood (from Mid-America MW) that is
just a lousy fit. No amount of tweaking makes it fit like an original and
it doesnt have the pedestal under the VW logo thats correct for a 1970
bug, either. Its time for a change.
Ive put out an All Points Bulletin locally among fellow bugsters for an
unwrecked 1970 front hood. And Ill ask The List, too. Anybody in the
Midwest or South or Southeast (Im thinking shipping cost here). If you
have access to a willing seller of a clean 1970 front hood, Id appreciate
hearing. Ill gladly dicker for a fair market price for buyer and seller
both.
BTW I have a decent 1967 rear engine lid stored in a barn down near the
Alabama border. Very willing to sell or swap the cars a known parts
donor and theres not much left of it, but that engine lid is in good
condition.
