Hi, Dave (and all),

Hmmm ... aside from the "Made in Malaysia" part (mine's Portuguese), we're
definitely dealing with the same relay. F'rinstance, click on
http://thedrive.de/tdshop/Bosch-Trennrelais-12V-75A-0332002156 and this
relay pops up -- from several vendors -- described as a battery isolation
relay for campers, etc. If you Google "Batterie-Trennrelais Bosch" it'll
also appear. The write-up only mentions the function of opening when the
engine stops running, not when the voltage drops, which the VW shop manual
mentions.

As soon as the sun comes back out I'm going to do the wiring and see what
happens. I've got the physical installation done, just not the wiring.

Thanks, Dave. I'll report.

Bert

Bert,

Don't know for sure what/where/how you bought what you did, but according to
the net it is a glow plug relay.

This might not be what you want.

You might want to take a look at this and use something similar from a real
vw?
