I think the intent of this adapter was to force all oil through the cooler. I also think for an engine to be full flow, you would need a pump cover with the outlet and plug the pump as well. I think it is a band aid at best, This thread kind of discusses it. I have one and never installed it- I did the guaranteed full flow method as described.
