Hello Listers,

I just listened to another excellent podcast from David Goodbridge at
visionaustralia.com web site. He discussed typetophone. this mac app cost
$4.99 US and allows your mac keyboard to input directly to your iPhone. I have
a dedicated bluetooth keyboard for this so was skeptical at first. But, I was
intrigued by the fact that text could be copied from the mac to the iPhone.
this seemed to open up all kinds of possibilities.
During his podcast David mentioned that the keys when pressed together
do not always work the first time. I noticed this right away when playing with
the app. My bluetooth keyboard was much more consistent and responsive. Then
I discovered that if I pressed a two key combination slightly differently I got
consistent results that made using the typetophone app more responsive. For
example, if I press the up and down arrow together I might have to do this many
times to get the phone to react. but if I press the up arrow and then quickly
the down aero it works every time. It does not work the other way around, down
arrow followed by quick up arrow. Also quick nab seemed to toggle better if I
pressed left and right slightly after each other and not the usual simultaneous
push.
I think this app will be very nice as it is easier to use one keyboard
to control my devices rather then changing to a different keyboard. It looks
like it will be easy to change between iOS devices for those who have several
devices.
Also, my dedicated bluetooth keyboard and the mac seem happy to both work on
the iPhone at the same time.

Hope this tip is useful.

If others find ways to make this app work better please share.

Definitely listen to David's podcast before trying it out.
