Let me take this moment to remind everyone that for recent popular questions like this recent one, the list archives are a great resource. We all fall into the situation where we read something on Monday which isn't important to us at the time. Then suddenly a few days later, it becomes important. If you know or think it's been discussed recently, visit the list archives and have a looksy. Now that we are using mail-archive.com the archives are far easier to search than Google Groups archives for some. I'll even provide the link below. *smile*.

Wow!

I think I've seen this question about 3 times in the last 7 days. lol.

Anyway, just move voiceover focus off the timer.

Hi list,

I keep getting voiceover announcing the duration of a call when I'm on the
phone, sometimes even if I lock the screen. This is, well, really really
annoying and I'm not sure how to stop it. Sometimes even if I do a single
double tap, or if I've got the phone in my pocket, it'll still announce the
time while I'm trying to talk to someone. What can I do to fix this?
