If you try any of the caliper apps (you find plenty if you search the
app store for "caliper") you may want to report back to the list as to
whether any of these tools work for a blind person. I highly doubt
this since I just read through the app descriptions of about all of
them and they all work in a similar way. You place an object on the
screen, the image of a caliber comes up and you then have to visually
adjust the caliper to bracket the object at which point its diameter
is displayed. It's the adjusting/alining of the virtual caliper jaws
which I doubt can be done. Also, many of the apps have poor ratings,
the one Richard mentioned, iPocket Tools 9-in-1, has pretty much all
negative feedback and I also found that almost all of them are version
1.0 and haven't been updated in years which I don't think is a good
sign.
