Hi Ioana and others! You do indeed have dropbox installed properly. To get at it, don't go into the applications folder. Go into your home folder and in there, you'll find Dropbox. Open that and you'll find all of the goodies you are expecting to see. I then made an alias which would appear on my desktop so I could open Dropbox quickly. If the install folder is still on your desktop, rebooting should make it go away. Hope this helps.
