Hi there, I am a totally blind teacher who uses an iPad in my elementary school classroom. I switch between having the projection system connected to my laptop and the iPad all the time.
You need an adapter to connect the iPad tot he projection. I am sorry i bought the adapter six months or so ago and do not remember what it is called. It is super easy to use though. I also plug the iPad into a set of small computer speakers so I ahve full sound. We use small group and large group activities. My students use lots of apps that are not even fully accessible to me but their eyes work, it is mine that do not, so it is all fine. My students ahve also been doing searches for youtube videos for short presentations, for example, we are currently studying the environment and care of the earth. We project these videos from either the iPad or computer depending on which device we used to search. All the best with your presentations.
