It seems to me that part of the real issue between Braille Books  and
speech(recorded books)  (long ago and far away) when speech started
out was a time, (production)  and an economic issue.  It was cheaper
to record material, faster and could reach a majority of people.  Like
most Braille users, I use a combination of Braille and recorded
materials to meet my needs.  There is a place for Braille and
Assistive technology, they are certainly not mutually exclusive.  I do
wish computers had been invented when I was going for my secondary
education, my career choices would have been broadened.  Patricia
