I just used Navigon yesterday and if I want to hear the directions
again, I double-tap the area just above the next street. The next street
is on the lower-left of the screen, and the distance left is just above
that. When I double-tap the distance, the voice speaks the direction, as
in how far is left and if I will be turning.
That's how it's always worked, both with older and current versions of
Navigon.

Phil, it did not occur to me until I read your response that I am using
an older version of Navigon. Last fall or so when they did an update and
there initially was some access issue, I did not update. It sounded as
though there were some big changes in the interface, so I still have not
updated. I don't like change, and how do you change that? :)
It sounds like I still don't want the update. It is pretty useful to
have that last instruction repeated, especially when walking or on
public transit where it can be pretty loud.
Here's hoping there is another way to get that information...

Hi Eric,
That's exactly what I was talking about. And, that's exactly what I used
to do when I last used Navigon (last summer). Last week I went on a road
trip and used Navigon. It worked fine, but I couldn't get her to repeat
herself by tapping on the mileage number you spoke of.
Maybe the iPhone, or Navigon, was just acting persnickity that day. Who
knows - I'll try it again.
thanks
P.S. have you done this recently? like, since the last few updates? or,
like me, has it been a while since you've used that functionality.
