Hi Judy Many new iPhone users prefer our basic or standard model, because it makes typing and overall orientation to the screen easier. If you are still learning your iPhone, the tactile markings can also help you with swiping straight. In general, if people come to us as more experienced iPhone users, we recommend the advanced layout, which has less dots. Also, if folks prefer to type on an external bluetooth keyboard rather than the virtual one on the phone, the less dots are helpful. I've personally demonstrated our tactile screen protectors at conventions and workshops, and have found that once they can see it on a phone, most people who have assumed that the more dots would be bothersome, have actually found them more helpful rather than hindering. I think it's easy to make an assumption when you can't hold it in your hand. We do tell people that the tactile screen protector is for use in portrait orientation only, but we've also found that this is the prefered orientation for most voiceover iPhone and iPod touch users.
